Step 2:

You have a maximum of three attempts to pass, you need a pass mark required of 80% or 8/10 to move on to the face-to-face training.

 

Step 3:

On completion of the e-learning training you MUST email over a screen shot of your pass mark to stees.clinicalskills@nhs.net to inform the team you have successfully completed the training by gaining a minimum of 80% or 8/10.

 

Following this email, please call the team on 01642 854062 to arrange your face-to-face practical training. At this point, the team will ensure they have received your pass mark via email.

 

Once attended, you will complete the designated competency pack within your clinical environment.

• Knowledge and confidence in using SPIKES model
• Improve teamworking and patient safety through advanced communication skills

Verification of Expected Adult Death by Non Medical Practitioners, 12/03/2026, 09:00 - 11:00, Room 8, STRIVE,JCUH

Target Audience – All Registered Nurses, Therapists working in an advanced clinical practice roles or trainee advanced clinical practitioner role are also eligible to undertake this training.  

This course will equip staff with knowledge of the current policy and procedures around verification of an expected adult death. Staff will then be required to complete a competency assessment back in practice and be signed off as competent. 

This course will be face to face and staff have written agreement from their line manager that this course is appropriate to their clinical practice.

This programme has been designed to equip band 2 CSW with the essential knowledge, skills and confidence needed to provide safe, compassionate and high-quality care to our patients. 

Clinical Support Workers play a vital role within our multidisciplinary teams. They are often the first point of contact for patients and their families, and the care they provide has a direct impact on dignity, comfort, recovery and overall patient experience. This programme supports competency acquisition within the band 2 role.

Staff are invited to attend a focused and interactive Vascular Access Study Day, delivered in collaboration with the Clinical Skills Team, B. Braun, Vygon, and Infection Prevention and Control. This educational event is aimed at all clinical staff involved in the care and maintenance of invasive lines, including peripheral cannulas and midlines.

 

The day will highlight the key principles of line care and management to support patient safety, promote best possible outcomes, and ensure line preservation. Attendees will have the opportunity to practise and refresh their clinical skills in a supportive, hands-on environment. Participation in the study day can contribute towards professional revalidation and be classed as a cannulation 3 yearly refresher.
