  • Insertion technique with step-by-step guidance
  • Troubleshooting common issues

Ideal for bands 3 and above looking to build confidence and hands-on experience in suprapubic catheter care.

Aims and Objectives
By the end of the am session all learners will be able to:

•    Identify appropriate care planning
•    Recognise the role of family and carers as partners in care (John’s Campaign)

• Develop a communication strategy when dealing with complex cases :
     e.g. delivering bad news, escalation of care, telephone v/s face to face conversation

Target Audience – All Trust Staff, interested in palliative care and key topic areas.  

These sessions will be facilitated by guest speakers, providing education on current practice in their area of speciality. These sessions will help extend your knowledge in specific areas.  They will allow you to have access to specialist staff with background/interest in the topic discussed and will also create a forum to share practice and ideas to improve skill set.

In addition, she will address the topic of symptom control in the context of substance misuse. This webinar is aimed at anyone involved in patient care

Verification of Expected Adult Death by Non Medical Practitioners, 02/06/2026, 13:00 - 15:00, Room 8, STRIVE, JCUH

Target Audience – All Registered Nurses, Therapists working in an advanced clinical practice roles or trainee advanced clinical practitioner role are also eligible to undertake this training.  

This course will equip staff with knowledge of the current policy and procedures around verification of an expected adult death. Staff will then be required to complete a competency assessment back in practice and be signed off as competent. 

This course will be face to face and staff have written agreement from their line manager that this course is appropriate to their clinical practice.
