Course summary
This course is aimed for health care assistants, health care support workers, therapy assistants, allied health support workers, care coordinators or volunteers who want to develop their knowledge of cancer care. It is suitable for people who are new to cancer roles, those who aspire to work in cancer roles or those who don’t work specifically in cancer but who care for cancer patients in their wards or departments at different parts of their cancer pathway.
22-04-2024 - Day 1 – Cancer pathways, diagnosis, investigations, staging - ROOM 30B, STRIVE, JCUH.
01 -05-2024 - Day 2 – Patients experience of cancer - ROOM 40, STRIVE, JCUH
09-05-2024-Day 3 - Cancer treatments and supporting patients living with cancer ROOM 40, STRIVE, JCUH
17-05-2024-Day 4 - Supporting patients with advanced cancer/palliative care needs ROOM 20, STRIVE, JCUH
Please note this is a 4 day course (half days) and by registering you need to be able to attend ALL 4 dates. Please do not book unless you can attend all of the dates.
