Palliative Care Community Roadshow Education Programme is for Community Staff only. Target Audience – All registered nurses and AHP's who deliver palliative and end of life care in the community as part of their work within the Trust. This is a day 1 of a 2-day programme that provides a comprehensive overview of palliative and end-of-life care across in community care settings. Designed to build confidence and enhance the skills of staff working in the community, the programme focuses on supporting patients and their families with compassion and expertise. Day 2: This course is linked with the Palliative Care Skills days, which focuses on specific palliative care skills. You only need to attend the parts of day 2 you have not yet completed. Key topics on day one include: Recognising when a patient is approaching the end of life Managing pain and other distressing symptoms Communicating effectively and sensitively Understanding and implementing advance care planning The course is delivered by the Palliative and end of life clinical educators. |
