Aims and Objectives
By the end of the am session all learners will be able to:
•Exhibit a greater understanding of meaningful interactions
•Implement a person-centred approach to care
•Understand the importance of accurate documentation and communication (Live interaction with MIYA/patientrack educator)
• Identify appropriate care planning
•Recognise the role of family and carers as partners in care (John’s Campaign)

By the end of the pm session all learners will be able to:
• Practice communication skills in a safe simulated environment to overcome filters/barriers
• Develop a communication strategy when dealing with complex cases :
e.g. delivering bad news, escalation of care, telephone v/s face to face conversation
• Knowledge and confidence in using SPIKES model
• Improve teamworking and patient safety through advanced communication skills
