These sessions will be facilitated by guest speakers, providing education on current practice in their area of speciality. These sessions will help extend your knowledge in specific areas. They will allow you to have access to specialist staff with background/interest in the topic discussed and will also create a forum to share practice and ideas to improve skill set. Topic: The new NENC palliative and end of life care symptom control guidelines: what’s new

Hannah Edge is a specialist palliative care pharmacist who is part of the Specialist Palliative Care Team in James Cook University Hospital.  Hannah will introduce the new regional guidelines released in December 2025, highlighting areas of change from the previous guidelines and implications for practice. Hannah has an in depth understanding of the guidelines and the theory behind them, and applies the principles in her daily practice.

This session is available for all clinicians working with patients who are palliative or in the last days of life.
