Step 2: Assessment

Complete the assessment via MS Forms by clicking on the following links below.

You have a maximum of three attempts to pass, you need a pass mark required of 80% or 8/10 to move on to the face-to-face training.

 

Step 3: Booking practical training

On completion of the e-learning training you MUST take a screenshot of your results with your name visible.

You will need to upload this screen shot onto the below MS Forms:

Venepuncture Part B: Booking your practical session. – Fill in form

Once you have uploaded your screenshot you will be able to select which date you wish to attend.

Upon completing the MS Forms a member of staff will be in touch to confirm your 25 -minute practical session.

 

Please note upon attending the practical session you will need to complete the designated competency pack. (please see attached)

Palliative Care Community Roadshow Education Programme is for Community Staff only.

Target Audience – All registered nurses and AHP's who deliver palliative and end of life care in the community as part of their work within the Trust.

This is a day 1 of a 2-day programme that provides a comprehensive overview of palliative and end-of-life care across in community care settings. Designed to build confidence and enhance the skills of staff working in the community, the programme focuses on supporting patients and their families with compassion and expertise.

Day 2: This course is linked with the Palliative Care Skills days (see page 7) which focuses on specific palliative care skills. You only need to attend the parts of day 2 you have not yet completed.

Key topics on day one include:

Recognising when a patient is approaching the end of life

Managing pain and other distressing symptoms

Communicating effectively and sensitively

Understanding and implementing advance care planning

The course is delivered by the Palliative and end of life clinical educators

Trish will talk about when syringe drivers could be used, the medication used and provide guidance on how to source information on mixing medicines and compatibilities. This masterclass is suitable for all health care professionals who are involved in setting up, prescribing medication for use in syringe drivers and for those who are involved in caring for patients with syringe drivers.

e.g. delivering bad news, escalation of care, telephone v/s face to face conversation
• Knowledge and confidence in using SPIKES model
• Improve teamworking and patient safety through advanced communication skills

Clinical Support Workers play a vital role within our multidisciplinary teams. They are often the first point of contact for patients and their families, and the care they provide has a direct impact on dignity, comfort, recovery and overall patient experience. This programme supports competency acquisition within the band 2 role.
