This session looks at factors that affect wound healing, holistic assessment and wound assessment.

The learning outcomes and content of the session as follows:

  • describe the importance of wound assessment
  • recognise factors that may delay wound healing
  • recall the key steps in wound assessment
  • recognise terminology used to describe the wound
  • recognise changes in the individual's wound and surrounding skin and when to refer on for advice or support
  • record and report findings from a wound assessment
  • value the importance of good communication and interpersonal skills with the multidisciplinary team

You have a maximum of three attempts to pass, you need a pass mark required of 80% or 8/10 to move on to the face-to-face training.

On completion of the e-learning training you MUST take a screenshot of your results with your name visible.

Catherisation Part B: Booking your practical session.   – Fill in form

Once you have uploaded your screenshot you will be able to select which date you wish to attend.

Upon completing the MS Forms a member of staff will be in touch to confirm your 35 minute practical session.

Staff are invited to attend a focused and interactive Vascular Access Study Day, delivered in collaboration with the Clinical Skills Team, B. Braun, Vygon, and Infection Prevention and Control. This educational event is aimed at all clinical staff involved in the care and maintenance of invasive lines, including peripheral cannulas and midlines.

 

The day will highlight the key principles of line care and management to support patient safety, promote best possible outcomes, and ensure line preservation. Attendees will have the opportunity to practise and refresh their clinical skills in a supportive, hands-on environment. Participation in the study day can contribute towards professional revalidation and be classed as a cannulation 3 yearly refresher.

  • refer to appropriate members of the interprofessional team when required throughout the patient journey
  • identify appropriate interventions to reduce and manage risk of pressure ulcer development

You must be qualified at least 12 months to book onto this course and have completed the Preceptorship programme.
